Planaria, flatworms belong to the phylum Platyhelminthes, are known as “immortal under the edge of a knife” due to their remarkable ability for regeneration. The freshwater, marine, and terrestrial habitats are home to a wide variety of species.
Some planaria have been found to regenerate from just 1/200th of a piece when separated from the main body, demonstrating their incredible ability for regeneration. The head piece can grow another tail if the head and body have been separated, and the separated body will grow another head.
