Biologists claim to have found that giraffes hum. Because it is physically impossible for giraffes to create enough airflow through their long necks to produce vocalisations, people had previously speculated that they are incapable of producing any significant noises. According to some, giraffes communicate across great distances by using low-frequency “infrasonic” sounds, which are sounds that are not audible to humans, just like elephants and other huge mammals.
