Impression, Sunrise by Claude Monet 1872
Impressionist painting was started by Claude Monet; in fact, the term “Impressionism” comes from the title of this painting, Impression, Sunrise. Monet is regarded as one of the best impressionist painters and a master of portraying a fleeting moment in time, despite the fact that his swift brushstroke technique was shocking at the time.
When painters sought to exhibit their work without the French art academy’s approval, the Impressionist movement was born. Monet established the Cooperative and Anonymous Association of Painters, Sculptors, and Engravers alongside Renoir, Pissarro, and Manet. At that point, they made the decision to host their own art exhibition without being constrained by the government-organized salons.
